Initial Infertility Consultation - What to Expect

Share

Here is a little guide for your first time visit for a consultation.

  •  Every consultation is different. However, you must come prepared if it is your first time. It usually lasts over two to three hours.
  • After being received at the front desk, you will be accompanied to the physician’s office. Your physician will review your medical history and discuss your family building goals. Based on your history, age and how you wish to pursue treatment, your doctor will list a number of diagnostic tests to evaluate both partners.
  • A routine test to examine the most important aspects of fertility is advised by the doctor. It includes evaluating the eggs, sperm, structures such as fallopian tubes and the uterus, as well as hormone levels on one or both partners in terms of quality and quantity.
  • The ideal time for this test is 2nd day or 3rd of the menstrual cycle.
  • You are requested to get all your previous reports, doctor's prescription along with id proof of the couple.
