TESA is similar to that of PESA but includes the extraction of sperm directly from the testicles. The treatment is conducted in general anaesthesia and is used to extract healthy sperm present in the testicles which have been unable to flow out due to blockages. TESA is mostly conducted on males suffering from obstructive Azoospermia and zero sperm count. This treatment helps to retrieve healthy sperm which are later used to fertilize with eggs for achieving a successful pregnancy.
